Here is another bug that I’m not familiar with. First time to see one of these. I thought it was a type of stink bug, but this is way bigger and longer. Like stink bugs, they hang around leaves and trees.
Light Source: Single speedlite 430EX II in ETTL, firmly mounted on the it’s tiny flash stand. The light is position in front of bug slight to it’s right about 1ft away from him. Flash remotely fired using the Canon 60d’s built pop-up flash. Taken using a Canon EOS 60d and a Canon EF 70-200mm F/4 L IS USM with a Pro-Optic Auto Extension Tube.








This is an Eyed-elater (Alaus oculatus), [not a stinkbug].
